About Me

Welcome to Make Your Mark!

My name is Nicole Harris.  I am a newly admitted attorney, licensed in New York.  As part of my effort to overcome a year-long stent of unemployment (which thankfully came to an end in June 2018), I decided to create this blog. I realized that I spent a lot of time and effort trying to get employers to give me an opportunity when instead I could create one for myself.  As T.D. Jakes once said, “Adversity creates opportunity.”  This was mine.

I am not a stranger to the blogger universe.  During law school, I started a style-blog called LegalStylistic.  The blog featured my everyday style, travel to NY Fashion week, press features and blog collaborations.  I also discussed important topics in fashion law. Given this past venture, I naturally chose fashion law as the focus for this blog as well.

I always knew I wanted to provide legal services to the fashion industry, mainly as a trademark attorney assisting entrepreneurs. Accordingly, Make Your Mark is written with the fashion entrepreneur in mind.  My goal is to inform and help entrepreneurs comprehend the laws—not just in the area of trademarks—they will encounter when building a fashion company.

This blog will benefit business-minded individuals who are serious about making their mark on the fashion industry.

If that is you, then read my first post here.
